Raffaele Riva is the founder and CEO of Aurea Multi-Family Office, a real estate company he founded in 1990. Raising his children using the same values that made him successful is what motivated Riva to establish a company that puts families first. He believes that if you want to build something bigger than yourself, it has to start with families. That’s why he stresses personal responsibility, work ethics, and the need for education – the foundation for anyone who wants to lead a more successful life.

Riva was born in Milan on December 28, 1961. He is married to Gemma, with two children. Raffaele Riva has nine siblings as well as his cousins: Rossana and Alessandro. Raffaele Riva studied at the Faculty of Economics and Commerce of the University of Milan, Italy (1983-1986).

Raffaele Riva launched his nonprofit organization, Aurea Foundation, as part of a United Nations International Year of the Family. The Aurea Foundation was started to support families and promote the importance of family values.

Aurea Multi-Family Office was founded to help families achieve their dreams of homeownership, so they typically focus on purchasing and renovating apartment communities. Raffaele Riva believes that homeownership changes live by creating opportunities, allowing individuals to develop meaningful relationships with their neighbours, build wealth through repurposing existing properties, and pass down family traditions through improved spaces.

In 2013, the Aurea Foundation was selected to receive the Junior Achievement Award for the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Milan, Italy. The Aurea Foundation is also listed as a 2012 Rising Star in Bottom Line Magazine’s “Top 50 Small Businesses” and “Top 100 Corporations” in Italy (BusinessWeek). Stockbrokers J.P.Morgan also selected the Aurea Multi-Family Office as one of their “Top Performing Italian Companies”.

Riva is one of the few real estate developers who are philanthropists and involved in social causes. He believes that “charity must begin at home”.
