Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) is the largest legal organization in the world. It is committed to protecting the sanctity of life, free speech, God’s design for marriage and family, religious freedom, and parental rights. The organization was launched in 1994 by leaders from the Christian community.

Although a larger percentage of clients are from the Christian community, the organization is also committed to defending the rights of Mormons, Jews, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Muslims, and people of no faith. That is because ADF believes that religious freedom is for everyone. ADF has represented students from religious faiths of all backgrounds, including pro-conservationist, pro-life, conservative, libertarian, and others.

Furthermore, there is Alliance Defending Freedom International that works outside the U.S. and has done an excellent job of stopping genocide against Shia Muslims, Yazidis, Christians, and more. ADF explains religious freedom as the right someone has to explore the deepest questions of life and live out their religious convictions in the public square. About free speech, ADF is committed to ensuring universities and public colleges remain marketplaces of ideas. What this means is that students are allowed to express their views, as well as to debate crucial issues without the fear of being implicated.

Under Supreme Court Advocacy, Alliance Defending Freedom has a hand in 74 Supreme Court Victories. And as far as international work is concerned, Alliance Defending Freedom is also committed to defending the sanctity of life and works to make sure courts and laws protect women and their children.

A good example of this is where ADF preserved the life of Jesse Ramirez, a Gulf War veteran involved in a grisly accident. Ramirez was in a coma for 10 days before the doctors held a conversation with the wife about removing the feeding tube. ADF ensured this never happened and, fortunately, Ramirez recovered from the accident.
