Alejandro Pena: Keter CEO Supports the Green Spaces Initiative

Keter CEO Alejandro Pena is proving his commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship by launching the Keter Green Spaces initiative. With a focus on connecting and educating communities, the initiative recently funded the upgrading of a Miami school’s garden to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week.

The garden at North Miami Elementary School received 25 items from Keter, including raised garden beds, storage sheds, all-weather furniture, and deck boxes. The firm took special care to ensure their donations were fully recyclable and minimized their use of virgin resources. Their donations included Evotech raised beds, which offer the growing plants improved drainage and soil warmth.

This firm’s Chief Financial Officer, Pasquale Iannone, was impressed with the project and its impact on the community. Despite the monetary donation being small in scale, it made a huge difference to the students at the school.

Partnering with the Food Forests for Schools initiative, the garden was upgraded to act as an outdoor classroom and teach children about botany, nutrition, biology, and environmental stewardship. The garden was outfitted with several of Keter’s stylish outdoor furniture products, including Adirondack chairs and deck boxes.

Interior designer Sabrina Soto visited the school during the event and taught the students about being interior designers. She also encouraged the students to interact with the garden and taught them how to plant the seeds.
