Olugbenga Agboola – a former oil company executive – has more than 15 years of working experience in the oil and gas industry. He has also worked with two indigenous banks in Lagos as a loan officer and later became a Relationship Manager at the Universal Merchant Bank. His research interest is around the petroleum industry, especially on the issues of institutional development and economic empowerment of blacksmiths in the industry.
Olugbenga Agboola is currently the Executive Director of Technology Development Group , which he co-founded two years ago with his co-director. TDG is a management consulting firm specializing in conducting projects in finance, corporate strategy, and investment appraisal. The firm also provides training on these topics.
Agboola is a member of the Nigerian Economic Society, the International Association of Energy Economics, and the World Markets Society. He has also been a resource person in seminars at several universities and institutions, including but not limited to St. Johns University, NY; Strathmore Business School; University of Ibadan; Oslo School of Management Development and Warwick Business School.
Agboola has published articles in local journals and newspapers, including the Guardian Newspaper, in which he writes from time to time. He has also appeared on television and radio programs in Nigeria, including The Business Show on Channels Television, Finest Hour on radio stations, and the Nigerian Television Authority.
Agboola holds an MBA from Babcock Graduate School of Management – a Fellow Program, USA. He holds MA degrees from the University of Lagos and the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He also has a BBA degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria.
Agboola is the founder and executive director of TDG – Management Consulting, a management consulting firm. TDG provides corporate governance and management consultancy services to organizations and individuals.
Agboola has served as the Adjunct Economist with the World Bank’s Sustainable Development Department, Washington DC, and was a Visiting Professor at the Wageningen University Business School Netherlands. He has also trained hundreds of young entrepreneurs in economic empowerment throughout Nigeria.
