Kelcy Warren

Kelcy Warren was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Kelcy Warren is the CEO of Energy Transfer Partners, which he co-founded in 1992. Kelcy is on the Board of Directors at National Energy Transfer Partners. He specializes in the acquisition, development, and construction of pipeline and midstream assets in North America. Kelcy has been active in the oil and gas business for the last 45 years, since 1974, and is currently ranked top 5 in CEO of the year by Forbes Magazine.

After graduating in 1974 with a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Oklahoma, Kelcy worked as a pipefitter for eight years. He joined Williams Companies as an engineer and later became Vice President of Engineering. Kelcy Warren was responsible for developing natural gas gathering and processing systems, as well as several major infrastructure projects in the Southwest.

In 1992, Kelcy left Williams Companies to found Energy Transfer with Larry Nichols. He is currently the Chairman and CEO of Energy Transfer Partners, a publicly traded (NYSE: ETE) natural gas infrastructure company that owns 55,000 miles of pipeline and 180 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage. Energy Transfer Partners is based in Dallas, Texas, and has offices in Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa.

Kelcy and his wife have founded the Kelcy Warren Foundation and have donated millions towards education, conservation, and health care. He has been married to his wife, Amy Hudson, since 2010, and together they have one son. And he is now worth an estimated 1.1 billion. In 2014 Steve Forbes Magazine named Kelcy Warren as a finalist in the “2014 CEO of the Year” awards in the Energy Category for his exceptional performance in the Energy sector.

Kelcy Warren has been an avid supporter of the arts in Oklahoma and other parts of Texas for many years. In 2007 he commissioned a sculpture by the noted artist based in Los Angeles, Andrew Wyeth, called The Dream. Kelcy has also helped to provide funding for a sculpture park in Dallas, Texas, named The Legacy Sculpture Park, which is said to be the largest sculpture garden in Texas.
